GET YOUR PASSPORT HERE
Anyone can order a Fly CA Passport book! Proceeds go toward supporting the program, including ordering new books, replacement stamps, ink, and other supplies.
Because this is a community-driven program, Fly California is in the process of becoming a pending 501(c)(3) organization to keep costs down and ensure funds are reinvested back into the program.
Each passport book has an individual tracking number to identify pilots who visit all participating airports. Once you receive your passport, fill out the information on the front page to begin your adventures exploring California airports.
Airports*
To see a list of airports, you can either use the interactive map on the Maps page or click on the link to the online spreadsheet. Look for a flyer with the California Flying Bear logo to find the stamp.
If a stamp is missing or the ink is gone, you may take a photo of your passport book, the location stamp (if visible), and the date as proof of your visit. Some airports may have multiple stamps due to sponsors or supporting destinations, but only one stamp per airport is needed to count for your visit.
Achievement Levels and Awards*
Taking inspiration from other programs, the Fly California Program has developed some rewards for pilots who enjoy completing tasks. See the rewards we offer on the Rewards Page.
Passport Program Rules: The Flight Plan
Participants of the Fly California Passport Program participate at their own risk. The team, sponsors, supporting agencies, and associated aviation organizations who have helped to develop this program in no way encourage participants to visit an airport under conditions in which they do not have the appropriate skill level, aircraft, or resources to do so safely. Airport information on this website, program documents, and the Fly California Passport Program are intended only as a general introduction to the airport. As with any flight operation, it is the pilot’s sole responsibility to familiarize him/herself with all aspects of a flight, including verifying any information contained on this website and supporting documents. Each participant traveling to an airport must also determine if a given flight/airport is one that they have the skills needed to make the flight, landing/arrival safely. By participating in the Fly California Passport Program, each participant agrees not to hold any sponsor or associated organization responsible or liable for any kind of mishaps, damages, accidents, injuries, or death.
There is no deadline for completing the Fly California Passport while the program is available to the California aviation community. As a participant, understand this is not a competition and is 100% voluntary.
All stamps must be an official California Passport Stamp, and must be placed directly into the passport booklet. No stamps/signatures made on any other document, and later placed in the Fly California Passport booklet, will be accepted. As noted, if a stamp is missing or the ink is gone, you may take a photo of your passport book along with the location stamp and the date to act as proof of completion. Some airports may have multiple stamps because of sponsors or supporting destinations. For these locations, only one stamp is needed to count for the visit.
Participants are highly encouraged to report any issues regarding the Fly California Passport Program stamps and their locations so that the stamps can be replaced if needed, and to help inform other participants traveling to that airport. You can send the report to [email protected].
If you lose or misplace your Fly California Passport, you will need to start over, as it is the sole responsibility of the owners to keep track of their book.
Passport Booklets are validated by mail: Completed Fly California Passports can be mailed to: TBD
Participants may apply for the regional achievements by sending in their book as they complete a region, or you may choose to send your book in once you have completed all the regions. Once completion has been verified, passport books will be returned to their owners.
Regional awards will be shipped to the recipient. Shipping may take up to 4 weeks for arrival.
Award availability is solely dependent on program funding or supporter donations.
If a participant has collected a stamp/signature from an airport that later withdraws or is removed, the stamp/signature will still count toward achievement levels.
*Stamps are currently being sent to airports as of the program launch in 2025. This effort will take time, and we appreciate the patience and support in making this program a success*
*Achievement rewards are subject to change as the program continues to develop following its launch in 2025. Rewards will not be sent out until 2026, as stamp placement is still in progress and the final list of participating airports has not yet been finalized.*
