Why is there a cost for the passport?
Unlike other passport programs, there is no state or pilot association sponsoring or funding the program. This is a pilot, community-funded, true grassroots program. The cost for the passports was factored to cover all the stamps, rewards, shipping, upkeep, and everything else needed to make the program and get it going in 2025. The classic chicken and egg dilemma.
Where can I get my Fly California Passport?
You order your passport online using the “Order Passport” link above.
How long do I have to complete the program?
You can complete the program at your own pace. There is no time limit on completion. As long as the program has funding and support, it will continue.
How do I get my passport validated to receive my prizes?
- We are not reviewing passports at this time, as we are in the start up phase of getting stamps out to airports for people to collect.
- If you have questions about your passport review or questions in general, you can email [email protected]
How is the program funded?
This program came to fruition in 2025 and is currently funded by donations from those who wish to support the program and the sale of the Fly California Passport. If you would like to support the Fly California Passport Program, please visit our Support page.
How do I know if an airport has a stamp?
As the program launched in Sept 2025, we are currently making arrangements and coordinating getting stamps to airports. To check if an airport has a stamp, see our online Stamp Deployment Tracker.
What does an airport have to do to participate?
Encourage the airport manager, local aviation club, or, if you are willing to help, contact us to set up a stamp location. You can reach out to us at [email protected]
The interactive map is not working on my tablet or phone?
If the Participating Airport pins are not showing when you open the map, push and hold on the map link until “open in a new tab” pops up, and let the map open in the new tab. This better enables the map pins to display on some devices.
What do I do if a stamp is missing?
Please contact us at [email protected] so we can replace the stamp or coordinate a new ink pad to be sent to the location. If the stamp is not available, first fill out the date and location of the airport. Then, take a picture of this passport page with the location of where the stamp should be in the background. Lastly, send in this picture, and it will count as a visit in lieu of a stamp.
Is the Fly California Passport Program a business or a club or?
The Fly California Passport Program is a pending 501c3 (not-for-profit) and is registered as a club for the purposes of the management of the program. This is a program by the community for the community, and all funds are placed back into the program to keep it up and running, hopefully for many years to come.
What are the plans for the future?
See our future plans page for our ideas to expand the program and provide ongoing stability.
